Moto3, Sportrik Media - Veda Ega Pratama is beginning to establish himself as one of the most improved riders in Moto3 2026 after another competitive qualifying performance at Le Mans.
Starting sixth on the grid may not immediately appear spectacular compared to the pole position battle. However, from both a technical and performance perspective, the result represents an important step forward for the Honda Team Asia rider.
Le Mans is not an easy circuit for a full-season Moto3 rookie. Its stop-and-go layout, heavy braking zones, and requirement for precise corner speed make the French venue highly sensitive to small mistakes. Under those conditions, Veda managed to progress directly into Q2 and fight near the front.

The most impressive aspect was not simply the grid position itself, but the way Veda built his lap times. In several sectors — particularly under braking and traction exits from slow corners — he was able to match the rhythm of front-runners such as Adrian Fernandez and Maximo Quiles.

This marks a noticeable improvement compared to the opening rounds of the season, when Veda still struggled with tyre management consistency and maintaining pace across longer runs. He now appears significantly more stable over an entire session.
Mentally, Veda’s development is also becoming increasingly clear. Many Asian riders have historically struggled with the intensity and aggression of Moto3 racing, where tiny details can decide multiple grid positions instantly. However, Veda now looks increasingly comfortable fighting within the lead group without losing control of his aggression.
From a technical standpoint, his adaptation to the Honda NSF250RW has also improved considerably. Veda appears smoother during corner entry compared to earlier rounds. That aspect is crucial in modern Moto3, where rolling corner speed and rapid direction changes are essential.
The momentum has significantly increased Indonesian fan interest around Veda. Over recent weeks, Moto3 has started receiving greater attention in Indonesia because Veda is increasingly viewed as a realistic long-term prospect capable of reaching the highest levels of grand prix racing.
However, his biggest challenge remains race consistency and pack management during full-distance races. Moto3 remains notoriously unpredictable due to slipstream battles and aggressive group racing, where results can completely change within the final lap.
If he can maintain this development trend throughout the European season, Veda could realistically begin fighting regularly for podiums during the second half of the 2026 Moto3 campaign. Le Mans has now become one of the clearest indicators that his speed is no longer simply a one-off surprise.
