The Finnish Rally Championship is set to write a historic chapter in international motorsport by hosting one of its championship rounds in Paide, Estonia, next summer. According to the official series calendar, the high-speed gravel showdown is scheduled to take place on August 13-14, serving as the penultimate round of the upcoming competitive season.
This landmark decision marks the very first time in history that a Finnish Rally Championship round will be held outside domestic borders in conjunction with another nation's series. Cooperation between the Finnish and Estonian rally federations has grown increasingly robust over recent seasons. Since the 2024 campaign, selected rounds of the Estonian championship have been successfully integrated alongside Finnish national events.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, this cross-border partnership took center stage at the Lansirannikko Rally in the Turku region, while the summer of 2026 will see Jyvaskyla take over co-hosting duties. Estonian drivers have quickly established themselves as formidable contenders within the Finnish championship. The current season notably produced two breakthrough winners in the top-tier class, with Patrick Enok and Jaspar Vaher claiming dominant victories in successive events across Imatra and Jyvaskyla.

The rapid rise of these Nordic-Baltic talents has caught the attention of seasoned professionals. Speaking in an interview with Rallit.fi at the end of September, WRC star Esapekka Lappi openly agreed with the notion that next season’s championship crown could very well land in the hands of an Estonian driver given their current trajectory.
While the Estonian excursion is firmly locked into the schedule, organizers have yet to unveil the exact location and dates for the grand finale of next season. The action-packed 2026 calendar will officially kick off in Mikkeli on January 15-16, before moving through Rovaniemi, Savonlinna, Turku, and Seinajoki, ultimately paving the way for the historic Paide Rally in Estonia.
