The Italian automotive landscape witnessed another dominant display from Stellantis throughout September, reinforcing its stronghold in the domestic market. According to registration figures processed by Dataforce, the automotive group achieved a notable double-digit growth rate.
Including the performance of Leapmotor, total volumes reached an impressive 38,704 units. This translates to a 12,6 percent increase, comfortably outperforming the broader national market which grew by 9,9 percent to 139,356 total registrations during the same monthly period.
Market share also expanded significantly, with the group gaining 0,7 percentage points to reach 27,8 percent. Even when stripping away the Leapmotor effect, the underlying performance remained thoroughly positive with a 7,5 percent volume increase and a 26,2 percent market share.

Looking at the broader picture across the first nine months of the year, the upward trend continues unabated. Total registrations hit 379,936 units, marking a 13,9 percent year-on-year growth that easily outpaces the wider market's 8,7 percent expansion rate.
Product-wise, the legendary Fiat Panda firmly retained its crown as Italy's best-selling car with 10,401 registrations. Meanwhile, models from Jeep and Peugeot further cemented the group's widespread appeal across key segments.
