Scott McLaughlin delivered a scorching final lap to secure his third pole of the season at Laguna Seca, edging out his closest rival by a mere fraction of a second. The Team Penske driver will lead the field into Sunday's 95-lap race.
Alex Palou, ever the threat, will start alongside on the front row, with Felix Rosenqvist and Alexander Rossi completing the second row. The stage is set for a tense battle at the front.
Surprises and Disappointments in Qualifying
Pato O'Ward was a notable casualty in the first round, missing the cut and settling for 13th on the grid, with no clear explanation for his lack of pace. Josef Newgarden, McLaughlin's teammate, also struggled and will start from the tenth row.

With one final practice session remaining before the race, teams will fine-tune their setups. All eyes will be on McLaughlin to see if he can convert his pole into a victory in the season finale.
