Drama unfolded at the Mandalika circuit as the lights went out for a thrilling short-format race this weekend. Marc Marquez successfully secured a stunning victory after navigating a chaotic and incident-packed contest that drastically reshaped the championship standings.

Chaos struck immediately at Turn 1 when maiden pole-sitter Raul Fernandez and front-row starter Marco Bezzecchi went down. The Italian was caught out after aggressive moves down the inside, instantly turning the front grid upside down and opening the door for opportunistic rivals.

The unexpected turn of events handed Jorge Martin the race lead, which he comfortably defended until intelligently sitting up to let Marquez pass with five laps remaining on the board.

Low front tyre pressure for the Aprilia machinery was heavily suspected as the primary culprit, forcing Martin to tuck in behind his compatriot. Although the Aprilia rider looked poised to retaliate, a costly mistake on the penultimate lap dropped him completely out of podium contention.

The late drama promoted standout performer Ai Ogura into a brilliant second place, while Fabio Di Giannantonio rounded out the podium in third, handing Marquez the coveted title lead.
