The battle for the MotoGP World Championship crown intensified dramatically following a thrilling weekend at the Mandalika circuit. Jorge Martin successfully snatched the championship lead back from Marc Marquez after securing a crucial third-place finish in the Indonesian Grand Prix.
The main race at Mandalika delivered high tension right from the start. Martin managed to catch and pass the Sprint winner, Marquez, during the early stages of the encounter. However, the Spaniard's pace was ultimately no match for race leaders Marco Bezzecchi and the injured Raul Fernandez.
For Bezzecchi, this brilliant victory marked his first triumph since Mugello. The sensational result moves him significantly closer to the top two contenders in the standings. Furthermore, Aprilia celebrated a historic top-four sweep, while Bezzecchi claimed the milestone 300th victory for Italian riders in Grand Prix motorcycle racing.

The updated championship standings highlight just how fierce this season's battle has become. Martin currently leads the pack with 355 points, holding a razor-thin two-point advantage over Marquez, who sits second with 353 points. Meanwhile, Bezzecchi holds firm in third position with 309 points, keeping his title aspirations fully alive.
Further down the order, Ai Ogura climbed to fourth place with 259 points, pushing Pedro Acosta down to fifth. With every single point proving vital under the modern technical regulations, the 2026 season promises an unforgettable title fight.
