German manufacturer BMW is gearing up to shake up the upcoming EICMA show in Milan by unveiling its latest motorcycle lineup. Following the rollout of the entry-level adventure platform and the naked F450R variant earlier in October, the brand is now on the verge of pulling the covers off a fully faired supersport machine.
The arrival of a fully faired entry-level sportbike bearing the F450RR moniker has been widely anticipated. While its single-cylinder predecessor, the G310RR, was restricted strictly to Asian markets, the new F450RR is slated for a European release. This move directly addresses the booming lower-middleweight segment in Western markets, where competitors like Aprilia have established strong footholds with the RS457 and Tuono 457, and KTM is currently developing its own sub-500cc twin-cylinder family.
Ahead of the official unveiling, the manufacturer released a darkened teaser image of the motorcycle. Closer inspection of a prototype spotted during final testing reveals that the F450RR shares its heart with the F450R, utilizing a 420cc parallel-twin engine featuring a distinctive 135° crankpin offset. The powerplant pushes out 48 horsepower, perfectly tailored to comply with A2 license restrictions.

In terms of chassis configuration, the F450RR relies on a tubular steel main frame coupled with an aluminum swingarm. Suspension duties upfront are handled by KYB upside-down forks, paired with a single 310mm front brake disc squeezed by a four-piston Brembo caliper. The rear subframe and underbelly exhaust system are shared directly with the roadster variant, maintaining a target weight hovering right around the 175 kg A2 class minimum limit.
The styling of the new fairing blends specific functional details with the design language of the F450 family and the flagship superbike, the S1000RR. This influence is clearly visible in the aggressive dual LED headlights upfront and the subtle aerodynamic winglets adorning the bodywork, signaling a comprehensive refresh across the Bavarian brand's sport bike lineup.
