Ferrari arrived at the Circuit of the Americas sporting a fresh batch of updates for the SF-26 ahead of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. While both drivers played down the significance of the new parts, the technical modifications introduced in Texas carry a much deeper aerodynamic purpose beyond mere peak lap time gains.
The latest package features a unique approach to the flow-conditioning 'fingers' situated along the front edge of the floor. Furthermore, Lewis Hamilton and his teammate are utilizing revised sidepods with subtle adjustments to the inlets and undercuts, designed to seamlessly link up with optimized floor boards upstream and feed cleaner air toward the rear.
According to pre-event technical documentation released by Ferrari, these targeted changes are intended to boost airflow energy heading to the back of the car, forcing the diffuser to work harder. The diffuser itself has undergone volumetric adjustments alongside internal fence tweaks to improve flow expansion and overall aerodynamic stability.

Prior to hitting the track, Hamilton kept expectations firmly in check by suggesting the new aerodynamic bits were worth less than a tenth of a second per lap. The veteran British racer emphasized that finding an ideal mechanical setup and making the car chime with the bumpy Austin tarmac would ultimately dictate their true weekend pace.
Echoing those sentiments, Charles Leclerc maintained a cautious stance regarding the new hardware. The Monegasque driver noted that while it represents a small and positive step forward, rival outfits have also brought substantial packages, meaning execution on track remains paramount for victory.
