Kimi Antonelli Close to Breaking Sebastian Vettel F1 Youngest Champion Record

Mercedes rising star Kimi Antonelli has openly admitted that he has no recollection of Sebastian Vettel becoming Formula 1's youngest world champion. The young Italian now stands on the verge of breaking that very record this weekend at the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas.

Vettel secured his maiden crown at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the age of 23, triumphing in a tense four-way title showdown against Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber, and Lewis Hamilton. That historic milestone is now under serious threat as the 20-year-old contender aims to clinch the championship during his stellar campaign with Mercedes.

Reflecting on the 2010 season during the official press conference, the young driver shared a lighthearted memory of his childhood. "I don't remember that. I was four years old. I'm sorry. I remember I was playing with Hot Wheels, but I don't remember him clinching the title," he told reporters in the paddock.

He further explained how his perspective changed as he matured and looked back at the sport's history. "Later on, when I grew up, I saw the race, which was crazy as well because it was a very close title fight between all of you guys," the championship leader reflected on the dramatic finale.

Entering the race weekend holding a dominant 102-point advantage in the standings, Antonelli has a concrete mathematical chance to wrap up the title early. Despite the monumental stakes, his unwavering mindset remains focused entirely on executing stellar performances on track and maintaining strong momentum heading into the next Formula 1 season.
