The Penrite squad at Grove Racing has made an aggressive move in reshaping their technical structure by bringing in an experienced international specialist. The arrival of the German technical expert is expected to deliver a significant impact on the performance enhancement of their Ford Mustang cars throughout the race weekend.
The former Porsche key figure was recruited to shoulder a crucial responsibility as the head of simulation and performance. This strategic acquisition follows the specialist's extensive background of thirteen years working across prestigious global racing programs, which notably includes deep involvement in both the Formula E arena and the World Endurance Championship.
Although yet to officially commence his full working duties at the team headquarters, the new engineer was spotted at the circuit observing Sandown operations firsthand this weekend. His name has already been officially listed on the squad's performance personnel roster for the event, signaling a swift integration process into the garage.

This high-profile recruitment follows a similar international hiring trend previously executed by Grove management. They previously brought in former Ferrari Italian engineer Riccardo Corte to serve as race engineer for young charger Kai Allen this season, mirroring an observational transition period similar to Corte's introduction in Adelaide last year.
Meanwhile, on-track dynamics showcased a stark contrast between the team's two Mustang machines during Saturday morning qualifying. Title contender Matt Payne backed up his strong practice pace by securing a sensational pole position through a stellar performance in the Top 10 Shootout, maximizing optimal setup and tire grip. Conversely, his teammate endured a messy qualifying session and will be forced to start the 250km opening race from the very back of the grid.
