A high-stakes finale in the competitive sportscar championship delivered ultimate drama as the battle for supremacy concluded with unexpected twists on the tarmac. With the championship leader sidelined following a heavy crash earlier in the weekend, the title chase shifted dramatically into a battle of nerves and survival.
The protege backed by Walkinshaw successfully navigated the tense encounter to seal the coveted crown. Meanwhile, Johor Motorsports Racing youngster Hayden Haikal delivered a masterclass performance to secure his second victory of the campaign, leading home his teammate in a fierce display of pace.
“That feels amazing,” the newly crowned champion reflected post-race. “It is my first championship that I have won. We came a bit short last year in the 86s, but we managed to make it work today in the Porsche.”
The race drama unfolded even before the lights went out when a formation lap error forced a delayed start and extended tension on the grid. When the race finally got underway, Xavier Avramides capitalized alongside Haikal at the front, while the championship contender had to fend off fierce attacks from Ryan Suhle throughout the stint.
“Unfortunately, things happened out on track, but we kept our focus and made the most of it to bring home the trophy,” he concluded.
