Marco Bezzecchi has expressed deep sympathy for the dedicated fans who remained at Phillip Island even after the main Australian MotoGP race was officially cancelled due to severe weather conditions that prevented the medical helicopter from flying.
The race weekend at the iconic venue carried immense significance, with supporters making long and challenging journeys to witness what was anticipated to be another thrilling chapter of motorcycle racing on the historic coastal layout.
Despite hopes from the race direction that a favorable weather window would eventually open during the morning and afternoon, continuous rain and poor visibility forced officials to abandon the grand prix entirely for safety reasons.

Reflecting on the unfortunate situation, Bezzecchi revealed that both he and fellow competitors including Francesco Bagnaia and rising star Pedro Acosta shared a strong desire to race regardless of the wet track conditions, though safety protocols remained absolute.
"A lot. Really. Difficult to describe," Bezzecchi told reporters when asked about his eagerness to compete in front of the packed grandstands despite the relentless downpour.
He continued by praising the incredible loyalty of the crowd, stating that seeing the massive number of people still waiting during the official rider parade was truly amazing despite the disappointing outcome of the weekend.
Looking ahead to the upcoming championship rounds, the Italian rider aims to maintain a positive mindset as he heads to Malaysia trailing by 50 points, drawing confidence from his strong recovery ride to fourth place during Saturday's shorter Sprint encounter.
