Marco Bezzecchi and Aprilia lead the 2026 MotoGP championship after four rounds, underlining a strong and consistent start to the season.
The early dominance is highlighted by Bezzecchi’s three consecutive wins at the start of the campaign and continued consistency, including a second-place finish at Jerez. The Aprilia package has demonstrated strong traction and chassis balance across varying circuit layouts.

Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola acknowledged that the current competitive landscape has also been influenced by Marc Marquez not yet reaching peak performance with Ducati this season.

Technically, the absence of maximum pressure from Marquez reduces the intensity of front-running battles, allowing Aprilia to execute race strategy and tyre management with greater control. This creates an environment where consistency becomes a decisive advantage.
“We are also benefiting from the fact that Marc Marquez is clearly not in top form, but we have also done a great job over the winter,” Rivola stated.
“Having four bikes in the top six at Jerez is a strong signal. We have two very strong riders, and the development direction is positive.”
Meanwhile, Marquez continues to search for Sunday race consistency despite securing sprint victories. Physical recovery from a shoulder injury and adaptation to the Ducati Corse GP26 remain key challenges in restoring full performance.
With a growing points advantage, Aprilia heads into the next round at Le Mans in a strong position. However, a potential resurgence from Marquez and ongoing Ducati development could shift the competitive balance in the next phase of the 2026 MotoGP season.
