Giant Alliance for Hydrogen

Behind the scenes, big names like Daimler Truck, Volvo Group, Toyota, Bosch, Air Liquide, and TotalEnergies are joining forces for one purpose. They aim to build an ecosystem capable of supporting hydrogen mobility "from tank to road."

This collaboration is designed to combine different expertise: truck makers, energy operators, technology suppliers, and mobility players. The result is expected to become a reliable and business-attractive foundation for the zero-emission heavy vehicle market.

Strategic European Corridors

One key step is expanding hydrogen refueling stations along major European transport corridors. These points are selected based on the concentration of heavy truck traffic projected to switch to this technology.

Beyond infrastructure, setting a competitive hydrogen price is the main fuel for this transition. Without reasonable pricing, mass adoption will be difficult. Full details of the agreement will be announced at a press conference at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, on September 15.

Toyota's and its consortium's move is a strong signal that hydrogen is no longer just talk. Europe is serious about making it the backbone of future eco-friendly heavy transport.
