Sergio Perez faces a tense FIA stewards investigation following a bizarre and unusual incident during the final practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The seasoned driver was spotted throwing an unidentified object out of his cockpit in the closing stages of FP3 at Interlagos, triggering immediate concern from race officials.

The governing body summoned the driver over alleged unsafe driving standards after the object was discarded onto the racing surface. The team garage immediately jumped on the team radio to demand an explanation for the unexpected mid-session action.

Race engineer Carlo Pasetti was heard asking on the radio, "We saw you throwing something out of your car on the outlap. What was it?" The driver responded by explaining a mechanical detachment, stating, "I don't know it was, uh..something came off. I think the radio, where you put the radio cables, a little box."

Acknowledging the transmission, Pasetti replied, "Copy that. We will investigate." The unfolding drama added more pressure to an already difficult session for Cadillac, with the car ending the final practice down in 20th position.

Compounding his weekend woes, the team has opted to fit brand-new power unit components to his machine. Consequently, he is officially set to start Sunday's main grand prix from the very back of the grid, turning the upcoming race into a massive damage-limitation exercise.
