The Formula 1 weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos delivered tremendous drama, both on the asphalt and during the post-race celebrations. Lando Norris successfully clinched victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix following a fiercely contested race dictated by tricky track conditions and strategic brilliance.
The McLaren star had to dig deep throughout the encounter after momentarily losing his lead at the start due to an imperfect launch. However, he capitalised on a mistake by Kimi Antonelli to reclaim top spot and control the pace en route to securing his third win of the season.
Despite his nearly flawless display behind the wheel, a comical yet heart-stopping moment unfolded during the podium celebrations. The British driver attempted his trademark tradition of slamming the champagne bottle onto the ground to create a massive spray, a technique he has practiced since his junior single-seater days.

Unfortunately, the bottle shattered completely upon impact, sending glass shards flying across the stage and leaving only the neck of the bottle in his hand. To top off the chaotic celebration, he momentarily walked face-first toward the firing pyrotechnics on the podium.
Fortunately, the driver emerged completely unhurt from the incident that quickly went viral across social media channels. Reflecting on the demanding nature of the grand prix, he praised his squad for their relentless dedication.
"It was a very tough race, very very tough," Norris stated. "I didn't have the best of launches off the line. A lot of challenges today with the conditions and going onto slicks in the wet is always tough, especially when you are pushing for the lead and trying to catch up a little bit. The main thing today was I kept it cool and didn't make any mistakes and had the pace when I needed to."
He dedicated the triumph to the team members working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep their championship ambitions alive. "This weekend we had an opportunity to get pole and an opportunity to win, and I feel like most times this year when there's been an opportunity, I've went for it and we've been able to achieve it. I have to say a big thanks to the team because they are still working very hard," he added.
This mishap is not the first time the McLaren charger has caused a stir during podium festivities. F1 fans fondly remember the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix when he accidentally broke a handmade porcelain trophy belonging to Max Verstappen while attempting the exact same aggressive champagne-smashing celebration.

With the season rapidly approaching its final rounds, the maximum points haul at Interlagos provides a massive psychological boost for the Woking-based outfit. The impressive pace and composure displayed in Brazil signal that they remain a formidable force heading into the season's closing stages.
