Marco Bezzecchi immediately proved his speed during the Australian Grand Prix practice session by setting a sensational lap time at Phillip Island. The Italian rider bounced back from an early crash to secure the top spot with a blistering lap of 1m26.775s, leading the Italian manufacturer's charge.
The one-hour practice session was filled with drama, including two separate red flag stoppages. The first red flag waved after Bezzecchi crashed at Turn 4 following contact with Alex Marquez, scattering debris across the tarmac. A second stoppage followed shortly after due to wildlife wandering onto the track.
Once the pitlane reopened, intensity ramped up as riders switched to soft rear tyres for qualifying simulations. Marc Marquez initially set the pace by dipping into the sub-1m27s bracket, but the factory-backed machines quickly responded in the dying minutes of the session.

Raul Fernandez capitalized strongly to claim second place overall, cementing a stellar showing for the RS-GP bikes. Meanwhile, championship leader Jorge Martin had to settle for fifth position, trailing just behind the leading pack.
Friday's running at Phillip Island sets the stage for a thrilling qualifying showdown as teams finalize their setups for the remainder of the Grand Prix weekend.
