Marco Bezzecchi staged a brilliant comeback at Lusail International Circuit, securing a dominant victory in the main grand prix after suffering a setback during the Saturday sprint race. The Italian rider delivered a masterclass in racecraft, leading from the opening lap and managing his pace flawlessly under the floodlights of Qatar.
The triumph served as a perfect response to yesterday's crash involving championship leader Marc Marquez. Bezzecchi capitalized on his Aprilia machine's strong race setup, exploiting optimal late-braking zones and maintaining superior cornering speed to keep his pursuers at bay throughout the demanding 22-lap encounter.
Reflecting on his redemption, Bezzecchi expressed profound satisfaction with his performance. "I am extremely happy with this victory. It was a fantastic race for me. I was very motivated after what happened yesterday and already knew during the sprint that I could fight for the win," he stated, acknowledging the tireless efforts of his engineering crew.

Analyzing the technical aspects of his win, the Italian highlighted tyre management as the decisive factor on a circuit notoriously harsh on front rubber. By hitting consistent apex marks and maintaining fluid throttle application, he preserved his Michelin tyres until the checkered flag.
"I had a lot of confidence in the bike, felt good throughout the race, and never felt any panic. I just maintained my concentration to pull away tenth by tenth and manage everything in the best possible way. On this track, tyres can suffer a lot, especially the front, so I knew I had to handle it perfectly," Bezzecchi added.
Despite cutting a triumphant figure in parc ferme, the Aprilia star remained realistic about his slim title aspirations with only two rounds remaining in the 2026 season. Sitting 74 points adrift at the top of the standings, he admitted that overcoming the deficit would require extraordinary circumstances.
"I would need a miracle and it looks like there isn't one for me! But it is nice to still have a chance to fight with them. Jorge and Marc are extremely fast riders, and simply continuing to battle with them is something wonderful. I just want to keep improving and take all the experience from this year forward," he concluded.
