The Formula 1 race weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos delivered incredible drama featuring a mixed grid order due to multiple penalties and constantly changing weather conditions across the 71-lap encounter. Amidst the challenging track environment, Lando Norris put on a masterclass performance to secure a commanding victory, crossing the finish line with a comfortable 14.6-second gap over the chasing pack.
The most breathtaking charge of the afternoon came from further down the order as Max Verstappen staged a remarkable recovery drive. Starting all the way back from 21st on the grid, the Dutch driver sliced through the field with supreme confidence to claim a brilliant second place at the chequered flag for Oracle Red Bull Racing.
Red Bull's strong day was further cemented as Isack Hadjar rounded out the podium in third position. Meanwhile, the Mercedes camp celebrated in style after officially securing the 2026 Constructors’ Championship, aided by George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli bringing home solid fourth and fifth-place finishes.

Further down the points paying positions, Oscar Piastri steered his McLaren to sixth place, closely followed by Scuderia Ferrari spearhead Charles Leclerc in seventh. Liam Lawson successfully converted his third-place grid slot into valuable championship points by finishing in eighth position.
Rounding out the top ten, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg crossed the line in ninth and tenth respectively, having been lapped by the flying Norris during the closing stages. Read our in-depth analysis and catch all the latest updates on Sportrik Media.
