MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Yamaha MotoGP rider Toprak Razgatlioglu continues to build mileage and understanding at the Sepang International Circuit as part of his adaptation process ahead of his rookie MotoGP campaign in 2026, following participation in the Sepang Shakedown and the first day of the official collective test on Tuesday.

The three-time World Superbike champion completed his fourth day of running in Malaysia with a best lap of 1:58.887, finishing 20th overall. He was narrowly beaten by fellow MotoGP rookie Diogo Moreira, who posted a 1:58.682 on his premier-class debut. Razgatlioglu’s priority, however, remained focused on understanding the behaviour of the V4-powered Yamaha YZR-M1 rather than outright lap time.

Throughout the session, Razgatlioglu attracted attention by experimenting with different rear seat configurations, including reverting to an older seat unit combined with aerodynamic elements. The changes were aimed at improving braking stability and rear control, key areas in his transition from production-based machinery to a MotoGP prototype.

The bike is a bit different because of the height.
In the end, I used the older, higher seat with the aerodynamics.

I felt better because the bike was easier to stop and the rear was easier to control.
I also felt a bit better in some corners when opening the throttle.

Razgatlioglu explained that while the older seat and aerodynamic package offered certain benefits, the overall ergonomics still present challenges. Seat height and body positioning remain important factors as he searches for a setup that allows consistent confidence on the M1.

Maybe tomorrow morning I will directly use the old seat, because now the wings are very important.
I am very happy with the new handlebars, but in some corners it is not easy to get the bike leaned over because it feels too high.

If I lower the handlebars, it becomes quite difficult to adjust.
But we will see tomorrow, because at the moment it is not too bad.

On braking performance and riding technique, Razgatlioglu reiterated that adapting his style remains one of the biggest challenges. He acknowledged that several corners require a fundamentally different approach compared to his World Superbike experience.

I am learning little by little, especially in some corners.
I still cannot keep the corner speed, but I am trying to change my riding style.

It is not easy to do, but I need it.
In some corners, you have to ride more like Moto2, and for me right now it is very difficult.

The Sepang Test represents a crucial phase in Toprak Razgatlioglu’s MotoGP transition, with ergonomics, aerodynamics, and riding style adaptation taking precedence over headline lap times. As testing continues, the progress made in Malaysia will form an important foundation for his preparation ahead of the next test and the opening phase of his debut MotoGP season.
