British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) competitor Nicolas Hamilton recently enjoyed a thrilling high-speed run aboard a V8-powered Supercar around the punishing Surfers Paradise street circuit. The 34-year-old British driver attended the event as an official guest of sponsor Monster Energy, granting him a rare and exciting opportunity to sample top-tier touring car machinery Down Under.
Strapping himself into the Tickford Mustang belonging to Cam Waters on Saturday morning, Hamilton took to the asphalt under greasy track conditions following heavy morning rain at the iconic Australian venue. The slick surface provided a stern test of car control, highlighting the raw power and unique handling characteristics required to tame the high-horsepower touring car.
Reflecting on the adrenaline-pumping experience, Hamilton admitted that the combination of the V8 engine and the unforgiving street circuit layout proved to be entirely breathtaking. Speaking to the Fox Sports broadcast, he shared his immediate impressions of the high-performance machine.

"I came in with some pretty high expectations, I knew the car was going to be fast and it was just as fast as I expected," he told the broadcast. "लेकिन with it being rear-wheel drive, I could see Cam was just feeling the rear tyre and straight away he was on it."
He was particularly impressed by the vehicle's composure over the circuit's aggressive track furniture and undulations during the fast lap. "It was incredible. Especially over the kerbs as well, it was, like, floating," Hamilton concluded, wrapping up a memorable morning in the category.
