The final Trans Am Series race at Ipswich ended in dramatic fashion. Tom Morris snatched victory from Blake Tracey on the last lap, while Alice Buckley completed the podium in third.

Tracey, who led from the start, looked set for his second win of the season. But Morris, coming from behind, delivered a stunning performance. On the final lap, he overtook Tracey at the last corner to secure an unexpected victory.

Nathan Herne had to settle for fourth after a tough weekend, while Lachlan Evennett rounded out the top five. Despite losing the race win, Tracey held on to clinch the overall round victory from Brock Paine and Todd Hazelwood.

From the lights out, Tracey took the lead, while Paine, who won Race 2, struggled with traction. A slow start forced Tyler Cheney wide, and Ben Bargwanna jumped to third amid the chaos.

An incident at Turn 3 involved Hayden Hume, who hit the car ahead, causing substantial front-end damage. He then tagged Harrison Sellars. Jarrod Hughes also suffered, spinning at Turn 6 before being collected by Coleby Cowham. Hughes continued but was well down, while Cowham and Hume retired.

After that, the race settled with Tracey leading comfortably. However, Paine lost momentum and dropped to tenth, aided by a missed gear on the pit straight. Meanwhile, Morris charged through the field and finally overtook Tracey on the last lap.

Ben Bargwanna, running in the top three, suffered a brake failure that pitched him into the fence at Turn 6 on the final lap. He confirmed via social media that brake fluid ignited and the car sustained light fire damage, but he walked away unscathed.

Todd Hazelwood finished sixth, followed by James Moffat and Paine. Tim Blanchard was ninth after failing to finish Race 2, and Jack Smith rounded out the top ten. The Trans Am Cup Series heads to The Bend 500 on September 11-13.
