Charles Leclerc admitted that the Ferrari SF-26 has the character of a true race car. However, on a track like Zandvoort, that character actually becomes a hindrance. This statement comes ahead of the Dutch GP, where Ferrari must fight from a less-than-ideal starting position.
Starting from sixth, Leclerc and his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, will try to take advantage of the fresh soft tires they saved for the race. This strategy is expected to provide maximum acceleration when the lights go out, given how difficult overtaking is at Zandvoort.
Ferrari Hopes for Rain
Leclerc is also hoping for a change in weather. “The weather has been quite unpredictable so far. If it rains, it could help me improve my position,” he said. The Monegasque driver remains optimistic that a podium finish is still possible, despite having to break through the strong defenses of rivals.

Ferrari hasn't scored a podium since the Hungarian GP, and pressure is mounting. With the SF-26's character of being more stable in longer races, the team hopes to use strategy and the right moments to close the gap in the standings.
Zandvoort is known as a circuit where overtaking is difficult, so the start and pit stop strategy will be key. Ferrari seems to be relying on tire reliability and race pace to break through the front rows, even though qualifying didn't go as planned.
Will the rain actually come and make a difference? All eyes will be on the Zandvoort sky when the race begins.
