Will Brown delivered a stunning performance at Queensland Raceway to secure pole position for Race 3 of the Ipswich Super440. The Triple Eight driver edged out teammate Broc Feeney by just 0.0993 seconds in a tense Top 10 Shootout.
Brown, who had faced scrutiny over recent inconsistent results, silenced his critics in style. "I was nervous coming here and finishing 12th, then you'd be asking a lot of questions," he said with a grin. "But to come here this weekend and deliver like this is mega."
He credited the switch from the 49mm to the 50mm restrictor as a key factor. "A large percentage of it is obviously the restrictor. We wouldn't be as competitive without it," he explained. "The Red Bull Ampol Racing team did a mega job giving us a new car this weekend. I've also tried to lift my game."

Meanwhile, Kai Allen from Grove Racing was a provisional pole contender after leading qualifying, but had to settle for third. Worse, he now faces an investigation that could drop him further down the grid over alleged impeding during the earlier session.
Brodie Kostecki (Dick Johnson Racing) took fourth, followed by Chaz Mostert from Walkinshaw TWG Racing as the sole Toyota in the shootout. The top ten was completed by Matthew Payne, Cameron Waters, James Golding, Aaron Cameron, and Rylan Gray.
With this pole, Brown has a golden chance to claim his first win of the season. Race 3 starts at 3:20 PM AEST, and all eyes will be on whether he can convert this momentum into victory.
