Mitch Evans secured his 16th career Formula E victory at the Berlin E-Prix II 2026, extending his record as the most successful driver in the championship. The Jaguar driver executed a disciplined energy management strategy at the Tempelhof Airport Circuit.
In hot conditions, Evans opted to remain towards the back of the pack during the opening phase, prioritising energy conservation. This approach proved decisive, as he was able to unlock superior pace in the closing laps while rivals began to hit their energy limits.
The early stages of the race were run at a slow pace, creating intense pack racing and frequent overtaking opportunities. An incident on lap four at Turn 6 saw Nyck de Vries hit by team-mate Edoardo Mortara and collide with Nick Cassidy. De Vries retired due to suspension damage, while Cassidy later pitted for a front wing replacement after a subsequent incident.

At the front, Oliver Rowland attempted to break away mid-race before Evans surged from the back to the lead in the final laps. The shift highlighted the effectiveness of energy strategy over track position at the Berlin circuit.
A controversial moment occurred late in the race when Rowland overtook Pascal Wehrlein in what initially appeared to be a yellow flag zone. However, FIA stewards confirmed it was a slippery surface flag, making the move legal and preserving the finishing order.
The victory moves Evans into second place in the drivers' standings, just three points behind Wehrlein. With momentum building, the title battle is set to intensify heading into the next round of the 2026 Formula E season.
