Marko Admits Verstappen Enjoys Endurance More

Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Helmut Marko of Red Bull Racing has revealed that Max Verstappen has found greater enjoyment in endurance racing than Formula 1 in recent periods.

The statement reflects a broader shift in Verstappen’s outlook, as the four-time world champion has increasingly voiced concerns about the current direction of Formula 1. In particular, he has criticised the balance between sporting competition and entertainment elements within the modern regulatory framework.

Marko, who played a pivotal role in bringing Verstappen into Formula 1 at a young age, indicated that this preference is not a recent development. He confirmed that Verstappen’s growing interest in endurance racing had already become evident during the previous season.

"I follow everything he does online. It is always impressive to see how they carve their way through the field," Marko said.

"If you say he enjoys endurance racing more than Formula 1, that was already the case last year."

Alongside his Formula 1 commitments, Verstappen has expanded his involvement in other racing disciplines, including GT competitions and preparations for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. These activities highlight a broader competitive focus beyond single-seater racing.
