Jorge Martin still leads the 2026 MotoGP World Championship, but his advantage has been trimmed to just 19 points after the Aragon round. More intriguingly, his nearest rival is no longer Marco Bezzecchi but reigning champion Marc Marquez, who once again delivered a perfect Aragon double.
Marquez, riding for Ducati Lenovo, took victory in both the sprint and the main race at Aragon, propelling him to second in the standings with 237 points. Bezzecchi, who had been Martin's closest challenger, slipped to third with 232 points after two third-place finishes in Aragon.
With such a tight margin in the top three, the title fight is set to continue fiercely at the next round in Misano. Mathematically, Martin, Marquez, and Bezzecchi could all leave Misano as championship leaders. The pressure is now on Martin to maintain consistency.
There were also changes further down. Fabio di Giannantonio moved up to fourth with 208 points, overtaking the absent Ai Ogura, who dropped to fifth with 203 points. Pedro Acosta impressed with a runner-up finish behind Marquez on Sunday, jumping to sixth with 189 points, ahead of retiring Raul Fernandez in seventh.
Francesco Bagnaia remains stuck in eighth with 143 points, well off the title pace. Alex Marquez follows in ninth with 128 points. The midfield battle is also intriguing, with Fermin Aldeguer moving up to tenth thanks to consistency with Gresini.
The 2026 MotoGP standings are more exciting than ever. With so many position changes and close competition, every round counts. Can Martin hold on, or will Marquez reclaim the crown?
