Alpine driver Franco Colapinto has officially broken his silence regarding the severe online abuse and cyberattacks launched by a faction of his ardent supporters against various figures across the Formula 1 paddock.
The toxic behavior from certain internet users has continuously made headlines, as aggressive defenders routinely cross the line of good sportsmanship in attempts to shield the Argentine youngster from outside criticism.
Taking to social media via a dedicated video message, the 23-year-old expressed sincere gratitude for the incredible passion and relentless backing he has received from genuine supporters throughout his racing journey.

Hello everyone, there is something very important that I have needed to talk to you about for a while, perhaps I should have done it sooner, and it is something we need to address, something that must change and improve, he stated in his address.
I will always be grateful to you and truly feel incredibly lucky that you have supported me all from the beginning, I am grateful for all the support you give me, he added, acknowledging how fan energy fuels his daily drive.
However, the driver drew a hard line when addressing the collateral damage caused by toxic online behavior, which previously targeted figures like Jack Doohan and Yuki Tsunoda earlier in the season.
But sometimes it goes too far, instead of supporting me, in the end other people are criticized and other drivers are attacked, my teammates, my mechanics, my engineers, people I work with every day, he firmly declared.
He emphasized that targeting race stewards in Zandvoort, teammate Pierre Gasly, or reigning champion Lando Norris following on-track clashes does nothing to help his progression or future prospects in the sport.
To combat the digital hostility, Colapinto announced that he is stepping away from online platforms temporarily to channel all his energy into his sporting career and collaboration with the team.
