Uncertainty surrounds the Formula 1 career of Jack Doohan following Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu addressing the Australian driver's position in light of Rafael Camara's upcoming 2027 promotion.
Ahead of the 2026 campaign, Doohan joined the American outfit as one of two reserve drivers, sharing duties alongside Ryo Hirakawa. Many paddock insiders initially viewed the move as a lifeline for Doohan to secure another opportunity on the grid following his challenging stint with Alpine.
Speculation grew as Esteban Ocon's long-term future with the squad remained shrouded in doubt. However, following recent official announcements confirming Camara's arrival for 2027, it appears Doohan's immediate path to a full-time race seat has hit a major roadblock.

Addressing whether Doohan would retain any formal association with the team next season, Komatsu admitted that no definitive agreements have been finalized yet.
"Yeah, it’s still up in the air," Komatsu told media, including Motorsport Week, emphasizing the exceptional standard displayed by all contenders during the recent testing evaluations.
