Ferrari Secures Dramatic Monza Pole as Toyota Struggles

The season-ending qualifying session of the World Endurance Championship at the legendary Monza circuit delivered extraordinary drama in the Hypercar category. The #50 Ferrari successfully secured a sensational pole position on home soil after recording a stellar lap time in an exceptionally tight battle for pace. This achievement provides a massive morale boost for the Maranello-based manufacturer as they chase glory in front of their passionate home crowd.

The battle for the front row was fiercely contested right down to the final moments of the qualifying session. The #50 Ferrari managed to edge out the serious threat posed by the #19 Genesis entry in second place by a mere 0.096 seconds. Meanwhile, third position was claimed by the #38 Cadillac, with the top three runners separated by less than two-tenths of a second.

Conversely, disaster struck the Toyota camp, which is heavily engaged in a fierce drivers' championship battle this season. A disastrous qualifying outing forces the #8 Toyota to start the race from 15th position, sitting directly ahead of the #7 Toyota driven by De Vries and his teammates in 16th. This major setback forces the Japanese manufacturer to rethink their strategy and mount an incredible points-scoring recovery during the main endurance race.

Over in the LMGT3 class, an equally thrilling contest unfolded across the high-speed Monza layout. The #78 Akkodis ASP Team emerged quickest to secure the class pole position. They successfully fended off strong challenges from TF Sport's #33 entry in second, with Proton Competition's #77 rounding out the top three in the GT class.
