The final round of the World Endurance Championship at Monza kicked off with high-stakes drama as Antonio Fuoco delivered a sensational home pole position for Ferrari aboard the AF Corse 499P Hypercar.
With all practice sessions heavily disrupted by rain, the qualifying and Hyperpole sessions provided the WEC field with its first true dry running of the weekend. Fuoco masterfully managed tire warm-up and traction zones to clock a blistering lap time of 1m33.364s during the frantic 10-minute shootout.
His stellar effort narrowly edged out Mathieu Jaminet in the Genesis Hypercar, while Earl Bamber secured third place for Jota Cadillac with a tightly contested lap time that showcased the intense aerodynamic and mechanical battle in the top tier.

"It is very special to be on pole at Monza and I am very happy because the car was mega today. The conditions were very tricky and the guys did an amazing job to put the car down on the track with an amazing baseline," Fuoco said after securing the top grid spot.
In contrast, championship contenders Toyota faced a major setback. Both the #8 machine driven by Ryo Hirakawa and the #7 car led by Kamui Kobayashi failed to cut through to Hyperpole, setting the stage for a dramatic recovery drive on race day.
