Charles Leclerc kicked off the United States Grand Prix weekend in style by setting the pace during the second free practice session. The Ferrari driver posted a blistering lap time of 1m35.291s around the Circuit of the Americas to lead a tightly contested field in Austin.
The session delivered another thrilling multi-team battle at the top, marking the second consecutive practice where three different constructors filled the top three positions. Kimi Antonelli put in a stellar performance to finish just 0.042s behind the Monegasque driver, showcasing remarkable speed throughout the afternoon.
Meanwhile, championship contender Max Verstappen had to settle for third place, finishing 0.189s off the ultimate pace. The Dutchman had earlier established strong benchmarks on the medium compound before the field transitioned toward qualifying simulations on the soft tyres.

Track limits and the bumpy circuit surface continued to challenge drivers and engineers alike, with several lap times deleted throughout the hour. Russell received a black-and-white flag following an on-track squabble with Leclerc, while teams used the final phase of the session to evaluate long-run race pace on various tyre compounds.
Behind the leading trio, Lewis Hamilton claimed fourth position ahead of George Russell, with Liam Lawson starring in sixth for an impressive showing ahead of both McLaren cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, followed by Isack Hadjar and Oliver Bearman.
