Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin are approaching the 2026 French MotoGP at Le Mans with strong confidence following a competitive start to the season with Aprilia. The pair currently occupy first and second place in the championship standings.
Bezzecchi arrives at Le Mans leading the championship by 11 points over Martin. The Italian rider believes Aprilia must maintain its positive momentum at one of the most iconic venues on the MotoGP calendar.
“I’m very happy to race at Le Mans. It’s a fantastic circuit and there are always many fans.”

“We are highly motivated to keep performing well and we will work with the team to stay competitive throughout the weekend.”
Le Mans is widely regarded as a circuit that places strong emphasis on braking stability and traction through low- and medium-speed corners. Those characteristics are expected to provide a key test for Aprilia’s RS-GP package following encouraging feedback from the Jerez test.
Martin also stressed that the post-race test in Spain boosted confidence within the team. The reigning world champion currently holds a 30-point advantage over Fabio Di Giannantonio in the standings and views Le Mans as an important opportunity to validate Aprilia’s latest technical developments.
“I feel confident heading into this weekend. The Jerez test was positive and now the objective is to confirm that progress on a different circuit.”
“That will be very important to validate the new technical solutions we are using.”
Martin also revealed that his physical condition has improved compared to recent races. This could become a major advantage at Le Mans, where the Bugatti Circuit demands high braking intensity and rapid direction changes.
With the MotoGP 2026 title fight increasingly shaping into a battle between Aprilia and Ducati riders, the French Grand Prix is expected to play a significant role in determining championship momentum. Aprilia’s ability to maintain competitiveness across different circuit layouts is now becoming a central factor in the title race.
