A major evolution hits the global feeder series landscape as Yamaha takes a bold step to elevate its renowned development framework. The Japanese manufacturer ensures that its comprehensive grassroots project undergoes a significant transformation ahead of the upcoming racing campaigns, shifting toward a larger displacement platform to better prepare young talents for the rigors of world championship racing.
The year 2027 will mark a monumental turning point as the existing entry-level world cup comes to a close after a six-year run, making way for a brand-new single-make category utilizing higher-powered machinery. This transition follows a worldwide trend where middleweight sportbike series have successfully taken over smaller-displacement classes to offer a more authentic stepping stone toward professional motorcycle racing.
Homologated in a sharper, track-focused specification, the new machine is engineered to deliver immediate performance gains on the asphalt. The competitive intensity of this shift was recently highlighted when promising rider Carter Thompson charged to a stellar victory during race two at the Jerez circuit, offering a thrilling preview of the upcoming competitive era.

The championship calendar will continue to run across six marquee weekends alongside the Superbike World Championship paddock. The 2027 campaign kicks off at Assen from April 16 to 18, followed by stops at Aragon, Most, Donington Park, Magny-Cours, and concluding at Cremona in late September, preceded by an official pre-season test session at the Italian venue in April.
To ensure maximum accessibility for aspiring racers worldwide, organizers have structured an all-inclusive seasonal package priced at 29,000 euros. This comprehensive fee covers the provision of a race-ready machine, matching leather racing suits, dedicated tire allocation, fuel supplies, and all mandatory event entry fees.
