A major transformation is underway as Volkswagen officially transitions its iconic Tiguan into a pure electric era with the introduction of the new ID. Tiguan. This cutting-edge electric SUV is scheduled to hit the market in early 2027, proudly taking over the legacy left by the ID.4 and ID.5 models, which have collectively achieved a production milestone exceeding 950,000 units worldwide.

Stepping inside, the cabin immediately catches the eye with an entirely new display configuration layout. Drivers and front passengers will be greeted by a dedicated front passenger display, paired alongside completely unique retro-themed graphics for both the instrumentation and infotainment systems. The quality of the materials used throughout the cabin marks a sharp step forward, seamlessly complemented by an intuitive and newly conceived dashboard layout designed to pamper every occupant.

Beyond visual and material luxury, the eco-friendly vehicle is engineered to provide generous space for five adult passengers alongside enhanced daily functionality through the inclusion of a front trunk that adds extra storage capacity. High-tech driver assistance features are also front and center, equipped with new technologies such as one-pedal driving capability and a Connected Travel Assist system complete with traffic light recognition to simplify journeys.

For buyers seeking ultimate comfort, optional features include seat massage and ventilation functions alongside a premium Harman Kardon audio system. Featuring a thoroughly revised exterior design language, the crossover now exudes the road presence of a higher-category vehicle. The arrival of the electric ID. Tiguan will not instantly replace the current lineup, but will instead be sold side-by-side alongside the traditional Tiguan powered by petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrains.

Regarding powertrain options, Volkswagen will offer the new model in three distinct performance levels. The range starts with a rear-wheel-drive version producing 140 kW or 190 horsepower paired with a 58 kWh battery. Moving up the lineup brings a rear-wheel-drive variant delivering 210 kW or 286 horsepower utilizing a larger 77 kWh battery. At the very top of the range sits the 4MOTION all-wheel-drive variant boasting 220 kW or 299 horsepower, which also features the 77 kWh battery pack.

Depending on the chosen power output and battery capacity, the WLTP driving range will reach up to 600 kilometers. Meanwhile, towing capacity reaches an impressive 1,800 kg with the 58 kWh battery and climbs up to 2,000 kg with the 77 kWh configuration. The new electric SUV will be offered across Trend, Life, Style, and R-Line trim levels, with market prices starting from 42,695 euros.
