Newly-crowned World Superbike champion Nicolo Bulega has revealed the specific advice given to him by Valentino Rossi when he clinched the title at Cremona a few weeks ago. The Ducati rider utterly dominated the 2026 WorldSBK campaign, winning all but four races and securing runner-up finishes in the events where he missed out on the top step.
Such incredible consistency allowed the Italian standout to wrap up the 2026 crown in front of his home fans at Cremona last month with two rounds still remaining in the season. This historic achievement paves the way for his highly anticipated step up to the premier class in 2027, where he will compete with the VR46 Ducati squad.
Bulega had previously spent time as a member of the VR46 Riders’ Academy prior to making his switch to the World Superbike paddock back in 2022. His trajectory reached new heights when Ducati signed him as a test rider for their upcoming 850cc project, solidifying his path toward a much-coveted grid spot for the future.

Reflecting on the milestone during an interview with Speedweek, Bulega shared what his future team boss told him immediately after capturing the world championship trophy. He congratulated me on the work I'd done, noting that I should now think about the tasks ahead.
Looking ahead to his rookie campaign in the premier class, Bulega admitted that constantly winning in WorldSBK created an unrealistic mental bubble where finishing second felt like a disappointment. Nevertheless, he remains grounded, acknowledging that he will not see his name at the front every weekend and will approach the upcoming challenge with zero expectations and maximum dedication.
