Oscar Piastri Conquers Pedro Acosta in Epic Dirt Buggy Duel

An extraordinary showdown took place when McLaren star Oscar Piastri went head-to-head against MotoGP sensation Pedro Acosta in an off-road buggy battle at the Monti MX track on the French Riviera.

This Young Guns Part 2 encounter brought together two of the brightest young talents in international motorsport to settle a score after their previous go-karting challenge back in 2024.

Trading their usual high-speed racing machinery for identical Segway Super Villain off-road buggies, both global stars had to conquer a demanding dirt track filled with massive jumps, deep ruts, and slippery corners.

For Acosta, who usually wrestles high-powered motorcycles on asphalt, having a four-point safety harness and a rollcage provided a completely different sense of security during the intense run.

"I feel too safe. Like, if I flip, I will not hit my head with the ground, you know?" the MotoGP star joked regarding the massive upgrade in safety compared to his standard leather suit.

Meanwhile, Piastri admitted that driving on a dirt surface presented an entirely new challenge that he had never experienced before throughout his professional racing career.

"I feel like the fact it's still on four wheels is good for me. Fact it's on dirt, and that I've never driven on dirt... that's not in my thing," Piastri acknowledged ahead of the competition.

Hosted by adventure rider Charley Boorman, the event featured a sprint race, a speed trap challenge, and a final two-lap Grand Prix finale packed with high-speed drama.

Piastri quickly demonstrated his adaptability by securing victories in both the sprint race and the speed trap challenge against his two-wheeled rival.

The ultimate drama unfolded during the final Grand Prix race when Acosta pushed his buggy to the absolute limit in a desperate attempt to recover lost time.

"I make a mistake going down to the first hairpin, and then I was just trying to recover the time that I lost, and I was close enough to kill myself," Acosta laughed while recounting a terrifying jump.

Displaying his trademark ice-cold composure, Piastri maintained a smooth driving style to cross the finish line with a 1:53 lap time, beating Acosta's 1:54 run to claim the crown.

This victory solidified Piastri's triumph in the second installment, leaving fans anticipating how both stars might settle a potential tiebreaker in a future edition.
