The Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto is set to host the dramatic curtain-closer of the 2026 WorldSBK season from October 16 to 18. This upcoming weekend promises immense emotional weight for the entire paddock, highlighted by an official farewell to Pirelli after more than two decades as the exclusive official tire supplier. Furthermore, the event marks the final appearance for Nicolo Bulega in the production-based series before his highly anticipated graduation to MotoGP next year.
Even though the premier class championship already belongs to the dominant Italian rider following a record-breaking campaign, competitive stakes remain remarkably high. Paddock discussions will heavily revolve around future team lineups, specifically tracking Alvaro Bautista and his yet-to-be-confirmed future, alongside Xavi Vierge stepping onto the track for his final weekend with Yamaha ahead of his switch to Barni Ducati.
While the top tier crown has found its owner, secondary categories are primed for nail-biting title showdowns. In the WorldWCR class, Maria Herrera enters the season finale holding a 44-point cushion over Beatriz Neila, whereas David Salvador defends a tense 12-point advantage against Xavi Artigas in WorldSPB, guaranteeing intense on-track battles on Spanish soil.
Technically speaking, Pirelli is pulling out all stops for its swan song, introducing a carefully curated selection of soft rear compounds tailored specifically to the abrasive Andalusian layout. This milestone serves as a symbolic tribute to a brand that has supported generations of champions. Fans tracking the action can expect high-octane racing from Friday practice sessions all the way to Sunday's final checkered flag.
Track action kicks off on Friday morning with WorldSBK Free Practice 1 at 10:35 local time, followed by FP2 at 15:00. Superpole qualifying sessions and thrilling race heats will unfold across the weekend, concluding an unforgettable chapter in motorsport history.
