The Formula 1 weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos left positive takeaways for Oscar Piastri as he staged a determined recovery drive from tenth on the starting grid amidst changing weather conditions. Although the Australian driver fell slightly short of his pre-race expectations due to early struggles in making headway through the pack, he was particularly encouraged by his raw pace once he settled into a comfortable rhythm on track.
Reflecting on his Sunday performance, Oscar Piastri admitted that while the day went relatively well, he still harbored ambitions of finishing higher up the order. "It feels like the day went pretty well, but I was hoping we’d be a little bit higher," Oscar Piastri told F1TV. "So still things to work on. But I think the pace once I got up to speed after the first few laps, I think the pace was very strong. So that’s a big positive. It’s been a while since I’ve been genuinely able to say that. So just a few more things to iron out and get on top of and just keep working and we’ll get there."
A significant portion of his afternoon was spent locked in a tactical battle behind Liam Lawson, before the McLaren charger finally found a clean passing opportunity on Lap 24. He noted that a cleaner qualifying session on Saturday would have eliminated the traffic issues and granted him a much clearer path to fight near the sharp end of the grid from the very beginning.

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella praised the sheer speed of his driver, emphasizing that recent technical upgrades have unlocked a potent chassis performance even if traffic management slightly hindered the final race result.
On the other side of the garage, teammate Lando Norris secured his third victory of the season ahead of Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar, though the Briton emphasized the ongoing need for absolute car consistency moving into future world championship campaigns.
