Marc Marquez lived up to his billing as pre-weekend favourite at Aragon, taking a commanding sprint victory to claw back crucial points in the MotoGP title fight. Alex Marquez followed in second, securing a 1-2 finish that echoed last season.
From the very first corner, Marc Marquez dispatched soft-tyred polesitter Marco Bezzecchi with a clean move at Turn 1, leaving him unchallenged for the rest of the race. This win is vital for his championship hopes, needing 37 points this weekend to stay in contention. Meanwhile, Alex Marquez once again proved his mastery of Aragon, reinforcing a season that continues to impress despite his championship position not reflecting his true pace.
Not everyone enjoyed a fruitful sprint, though. Pecco Bagnaia endured another difficult outing, finishing 11th and well outside the points. The rear grip issues that plagued him on Friday resurfaced, and after a mid-season resurgence, he finds himself back in the doldrums, losing valuable ground in the title race.
LCR Honda, however, were among the standout performers, with Johann Zarco taking seventh and Diogo Moreira ninth. Zarco, returning from injury, looked sharp, while Moreira impressed by advancing solo in Q1. Raul Fernandez could only manage eighth, his race notable only for an early tangle with Jorge Martin.
