Ducati MotoGP boss Davide Tardozzi has firmly dismissed idle gossip claiming that the development of the 2026 machine has been entirely influenced and tailored to suit Marc Marquez.

The claims emerged as the seven-year world champion sits comfortably inside the top five of the championship standings following a compelling weekend at the Indonesian Grand Prix. Marquez stands out as the only Ducati rider holding multiple race wins this year, sitting just two points behind championship leader Jorge Martin, while others struggle to close the gap.

During his previous tenure with Honda, recurring paddock talk suggested the Japanese manufacturer heavily focused the RC213V development exclusively around maximizing Marquez's unique riding style. However, Tardozzi has categorically denied that any such single-rider policy exists within the current factory Ducati setup.

Speaking to Sky Italy after the race weekend, Tardozzi insisted that the current championship order is simply a reflection of on-track performance, noting how strong competing factories like Aprilia have been performing.

"Absolutely not true. I've seen what's been contributed, what the other riders have decided, so it's not at all true that Marquez has had the bike made to his specifications," Tardozzi stated. He firmly labeled the claims as idle gossip, emphasizing that individuals closely involved in the development process are well aware of the distinct efforts made to accommodate every rider.

Tardozzi highlighted the struggles faced by Pecco Bagnaia since Marquez's arrival, clarifying that the Italian factory continuously attempts to find solutions despite the recent performance hurdles.

"We've always had the possibility and the ability to develop the bike for each rider. In other words, it's not like if the bike works well for Marquez, it's now the same for everyone. For example, Pecco uses a different fairing than Marc, to cite just one case," Tardozzi explained.

The Ducati team manager further revealed that Bagnaia utilized a different swingarm aerodynamic setup compared to Marquez for an extended period. He reiterated that all factory-supported riders retain the autonomy to select their preferred components.

"We don't build the bike for Marc Marquez and then expect it to work for everyone; it doesn't work that way," Tardozzi concluded, putting an end to the paddock speculation.
