Marc Marquez set the fastest time in Practice for the 2026 German MotoGP at the Sachsenring, recording a 1m19.394s as team-mate Francesco Bagnaia failed to secure direct passage into Q2.
The Ducati Lenovo rider ended the session 0.166 seconds clear of Raul Fernandez, who had led FP1 earlier on Friday. Fabio Di Giannantonio finished third and Alex Marquez took fourth, placing three Ducati machines inside the top four.
Jack Miller produced the surprise result of the session by taking the Pramac Yamaha to fifth. He finished ahead of Ai Ogura, Marco Bezzecchi and championship leader Jorge Martin, with all three riders also securing direct Q2 places.

Pedro Acosta and Franco Morbidelli claimed the final two positions inside the top 10. Morbidelli was placed under investigation after appearing to obstruct Acosta earlier in the session, forcing the KTM rider to abandon a flying lap.
Bagnaia could manage only 13th, finishing 0.738 seconds behind Marquez. The result left the factory Ducati rider facing Q1 alongside Enea Bastianini, Brad Binder, Luca Marini, Fabio Quartararo and the other riders outside the top 10.
Every rider moved to the hard-compound front tyre for the afternoon session. Most used the medium rear for race preparation, while Acosta, Bagnaia and Martin began their programmes on the soft compound.
Marquez’s pace established him as the early benchmark heading into qualifying, although Fernandez, Di Giannantonio and Alex Marquez remained within competitive range. Saturday’s focus will centre on Bagnaia’s attempt to escape Q1 and the battle for the front rows at the Sachsenring.
