The fierce on-track rivalry between Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi during the Tissot Sprint at the Lusail International Circuit reached a boiling point. The Ducati factory rider did not hold back in delivering a sharp analysis following their controversial contact, admitting he was utterly surprised to find his Aprilia Racing rival occupying that specific space on the racing line.
Speaking to Spanish media after crossing the finish line first, the eight-time world champion detailed the dramatic moments that shaped the outcome of the short race. He firmly maintained that his riding line was completely standard, executing a predictable sequence of heavy braking, running slightly wide at the apex, and smoothly rejoining the ideal trajectory. The impact of the collision was so intense that the Spaniard's suit airbag deployed, forcing him to pilot his machine for several corners with the safety system fully triggered.
"I was very surprised to find him right there, because I didn't do anything unusual out on the track. I simply maintained my usual trajectory, which was always the same: braking, running slightly wide, and heading back to the racing line. I believe he simply carried too much entry speed," Marquez explained regarding the flashpoint incident.

The tension in the cockpit escalated further when championship contender Jorge Martin immediately applied pressure from behind. Marquez confessed that the sudden assault caught him completely off guard, especially while he was still managing the technical handicap of a deployed airbag following the earlier contact. That sudden realization forced an instant shift in his tactical approach to secure his track position.
"I thought to myself that we needed to calm down for a moment after the bump, but then I suddenly saw Martin attacking me, which completely caught me by surprise. When I saw him closing in, I immediately told myself that I needed to stay ahead of him no matter what it takes, so I pushed to establish a solid gap," he added.
Looking ahead to the main Grand Prix race, the red-suited #93 emphasized that his primary objective has shifted toward neutralizing his direct championship rivals rather than taking unnecessary risks. Following the costly error made by the Italian rider in the Sprint, the tactical focus inside the Borgo Panigale garage remains firmly locked on managing points and keeping key competitors safely behind.
