A sudden deluge hit the Sandown circuit moments before the Dunlop Super2 Series qualifying session began, forcing teams into an immediate scramble for wet weather tyres. The treacherous track conditions immediately tested the mental resilience and adaptability of every driver on the grid under intense pressure.
Campbell Logan emerged as the absolute star of the session, mastering the slippery asphalt to secure the first pole position of his racing career. Delivering a masterclass in wet-weather control, he clocked his fastest lap of 1:19.7869 on his eighth tour around the demanding circuit.
The chaotic weather wreaked havoc across the field as several competitors speared off the road during the early frantic minutes. Tommy Smith was the first driver to slide off at the third-to-last corner, quickly followed by Ayrton Hodson who lost control at Turn 2.

The attrition rate continued to climb as both Alice Buckley and Matt Hillyer suffered off-track excursions at the final chicane. As another heavy shower swept across the venue midway through, lap time improvements became virtually impossible for the rest of the field.
Ford machinery locked out the entire top five positions, with Logan leading the charge ahead of Lochie Dalton and Reuben Goodall. Nash Morris and Ben Gomersall rounded out the top-performing group in fourth and fifth respectively.
The session was ultimately cut short by a red flag after Declan Fraser experienced a mechanical failure exiting Turn 4, bringing his Holden to a halt. The stoppage effectively ended the battle for pole, leaving Fraser to settle for fifteenth on the grid for his series return.
