Lando Norris is set to face no internal punishment from McLaren for crashing into Formula 1 team-mate Oscar Piastri during the sprint race at the Singapore Grand Prix.
The reigning world champion collided with Piastri when he tried to go up the inside of Turn 5 as the pair battled for fourth place on the final lap of the sprint race. The contact sent Piastri into a spin that ended his race, while Norris dropped down the order to salvage the final point on offer in eighth position.
The stewards decided against taking any sporting action, deeming that both drivers shared responsibility for the costly clash. However, the incident left McLaren team principal Andrea Stella visibly fuming in the paddock.

Seeing two McLarens making contact like that is simply not acceptable, Stella told Sky Sports F1 in Singapore. This is something that we will discuss with our drivers in private, reiterating that the team interest is far bigger than any of us.
Although Norris initially defended his overtaking attempt, he later acknowledged his misjudgment and took full accountability for the collision. Following discussions between the Singapore round and the United States Grand Prix, it was confirmed that the British driver would escape any formal sanctions.
I take responsibility for my mistakes, and I learn from them, Norris stated in McLaren's official Austin preview press release. This team is my motivation every weekend, and my aim is to repay everyone's hard work.
Piastri later confirmed during the Thursday media sessions in Austin that he was entirely satisfied with how the sensitive matter was managed behind closed doors by the team leadership.
Reporting from the ground, sources via Crash.net noted that the swift internal resolution has successfully restored harmony within the Woking-based outfit as the championship heads into the final crucial stretch.
