Talented Italian racing driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has chosen not to weigh himself down with the mathematical possibility of securing a world championship title this weekend. Heading into the race weekend at the United States Grand Prix, the championship standings technically offer a window for the young star to seal the crown, though the scenario relies on an unlikely combination of events and poor results from his title rivals.
Speaking during the official press conference, the prominent Mercedes charger emphasized that dwelling on championship permutations serves no useful purpose. Instead, his priority remains fully locked on maximizing his on-track performance and enjoying every single moment of the race weekend.
“The title? I prefer not to think about it,” Antonelli told journalists. He noted that for him to capture the championship crown on Sunday, a catastrophic downturn in fortunes would need to happen to the other contenders, while his own weekend must unfold to absolute perfection.

Furthermore, the Bologna-born driver shared details of a conversation he had earlier in the day with his trusted race engineer, Bono. The pair decided to completely sideline championship math and return to the straightforward racing philosophy that has guided them successfully throughout the entire racing campaign.
“This morning we had a meeting with Bono and we simply told each other ‘let's just have fun.’ It is always the same mental attitude I have had all year: one race at a time. I just try to do my best in every race weekend, and then we will see,” he explained with characteristic composure.
While attempting to temper external expectations, the Italian prodigy readily admitted that fighting at the sharp end of the grid for a world title represents a lifelong dream. Finding himself in such a formidable position feels surreal, yet he remains firmly grounded in the knowledge that there is still crucial work to finish before celebrating.
