Jorge Martin has declared himself fast and fully prepared for the upcoming Australian Grand Prix weekend at Phillip Island. The Aprilia factory rider arrives holding a slender two-point championship lead over his closest rival, Marc Marquez, heading into the final stages of the 2026 season.
Although the previous round in Indonesia highlighted the strong overall performance of the RS-GP machinery, Martin insists that his complete focus is now locked onto the challenges awaiting him in Australia. He feels confident in his speed after securing a solid podium finish in the last outing.
"Indonesia is the past. We are really focusing on Phillip Island," Martin stated ahead of the opening practice sessions. He emphasized that maximizing his potential and maintaining a strong feeling with the motorcycle remain his primary objectives for the weekend.

Analyzing the unique layout of Phillip Island, the Spanish contender anticipates a tightly contested group battle due to the close performance margins among top riders at the historic circuit. Predicting the outcome remains a complex task as lap times and race paces traditionally bunch up closely along the coastal layout.
With variable weather conditions and rain forecasts threatening the latter stages of the weekend, staying out of trouble and collecting valuable championship points is paramount. Expanding his margin over Marquez would represent a massive boost, though clever racing and finishing both races safely stay at the forefront of his strategy.
