MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Johann Zarco has officially unveiled the latest Castrol colours he will race with LCR Honda in the 2026 MotoGP World Championship, marking his third consecutive season with Honda machinery.

The 2026 campaign represents Zarco’s third year with Honda at LCR, all under the Castrol banner. That partnership has already delivered a landmark moment, highlighted by his sensational victory at last season’s French Grand Prix, one of Honda’s standout results in the current technical era.

The new livery retains Castrol’s traditional red, white and green colour scheme and will be used for the final season of the 1000cc Michelin era. Subtle additions, including black and blue accents, have been introduced to refresh the visual identity ahead of what is expected to be a pivotal year for Honda.

“I like it,” said Johann Zarco when asked about the new LCR colours.
“It has the familiar Castrol colours with some black and blue.”

Zarco was also clear about his competitive objectives for the season ahead, expressing optimism based on early feedback from Honda’s latest developments.

“My goal is more victories,” he added.
“I’m very pleased with the performance of the new Honda and the comments of the new riders at the Shakedown.”

He highlighted encouraging signals from fellow Honda riders as a source of confidence entering 2026.

“Aleix was very fast and Diogo is adapting well too. This gives us great hopes for the 2026 season,” Zarco explained.

Last season, Zarco built on the early high of victory at Le Mans and a dry podium at Silverstone, before adding further prestige by defending Honda’s Suzuka 8 Hours crown during the summer. However, the second half of the year proved more challenging, with the 35-year-old gradually losing ground to factory HRC riders Luca Marini and Joan Mir.

One of the key difficulties was delayed access to new technical parts compared to the works HRC machines. That issue became a central factor in Zarco’s recent contract extension with LCR, which secures his future with the team through the end of the 2027 season.

The renewed agreement includes a clause guaranteeing Zarco access to the same technical specification as the official factory team, with updates and developments delivered in parallel throughout the season.

A MotoGP race winner during his time with Pramac Ducati, Zarco went on to finish last season 12th overall in the championship standings. He narrowly retained top Honda honours by just six points over Marini, underlining the fine margins within the manufacturer’s internal battle.

With 23 premier-class podiums to his name, Zarco is now the oldest full-time rider on the MotoGP grid. He will first take to the track in his new Castrol LCR colours at the upcoming Official MotoGP Sepang Test, scheduled for February 3–5, which will provide the first clear indication of Honda’s competitive direction heading into the 2026 season.
