Friday practice at the Lusail International Circuit delivered intense action under the floodlights as Fabio Di Giannantonio set a blistering pace to break the absolute lap record. The Italian rider maximized the potential of his machine to outshine the rest of the field in a thrilling opening day of the weekend.
The battle at the sharp end of the timesheets was fiercely contested. Marc Marquez faced an unexpected setback midway through the session when a mechanical issue with his chain forced him back to the pits. However, the championship leader responded in style upon returning to the track on fresh rubber, securing second place overall.
Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia found a welcome return to form. Following a difficult weekend in Sepang, the factory Ducati rider unlocked valuable speed and comfort to finish fourth, showing that he is ready to fight at the front.

Aprilia also showcased strong potential as Marco Bezzecchi set impressive paces during race simulations and initial time attacks before ending up third fastest. His teammate Jorge Martin fought through physical limitations to secure a vital direct spot in Q2.
On the other hand, Pedro Acosta missed out on the top ten cut and will be forced to battle through Saturday's Q1 session. The stage is perfectly set for a dramatic qualifying and Sprint showdown.
