Joan Mir is set to miss his fourth consecutive MotoGP round as the Spaniard continues his recovery from a yet-to-be-diagnosed fatigue issue, ruling him out of the upcoming action at Phillip Island.
The trouble started during the San Marino GP weekend when Mir was forced into an early retirement due to extreme physical fatigue. Following strict advice from MotoGP Medical Director Dr. Angel Charte, the Honda rider was subsequently sidelined from consecutive race weekends in Austria, Japan, and Indonesia.
Extensive medical checks at the Dexeus University Hospital have so far drawn a blank in finding a clear diagnosis for the severe symptoms plaguing the rider for months. With medical evaluations remaining inconclusive, his support team deemed it much too early for a competitive return in Australia.

This ongoing absence has triggered an operational scramble for Honda HRC Castrol. Test and wildcard rider Takaaki Nakagami was already ruled out due to a left collarbone fracture suffered in Motegi, forcing the team to deploy lead test rider Aleix Espargaro during the Indonesian Grand Prix.
Espargaro, who suffered four fractured vertebrae in a severe Sepang test crash, struggled heavily with physical demands in Mandalika before withdrawing prior to the main race. He is now booked for surgery in Barcelona, leaving Honda with zero substitute options and forcing Luca Marini to fly the factory flag alone in Australia.
